Wire-wrapped pendant with polished petrified wood

Wire-wrapped pendant featuring polished petrified wood, wrapped in gold plated wire. The petrified wood fossil specimen used for this jewelry came from Madagascar and was tumbled in my lapidary studio from a natural rough to a smooth shine. This particular piece shows the grain of the ancient wood it was formed from in a cool brown palette from light to medium shades.
