Austin Prod Bright Eyes "Boy with Dog" Figurine, signed and dated 1987
From 1953 through to 2009, Austin Productions commissioned and manufactured many delightful sculptures from Durastone, a mix of crushed stone and powdered gypsum. The "Bright Eyes" line, of which this Boy with Dog sculpture is a part, were cast after a master sculpt of artist Dee Crowley. This particular line focused on the innocence of childhood, quiet carefree moments of happiness.
At 6.5" tall, this sculpture is large enough to be a point of interest on display in your home without dominating the space. If you or someone you love have a memory that is sparked by this touching scene of a boy with his dog, it could bring that spark of joy each time you pass it by.
The item will be securely packaged to make sure it arrives to you unharmed, as this young man and his pooch have unfortunately been separated from their original box and packaging.
Condition notes: I would say this is in used, VG/G condition. The carved detail relief is still sharp, and even tinier things like the boy's shoelaces are still distinct. Durastone was made to last. The sculpture is quite solid when you hold it in your hands, and I could not identify any unintentional cracks or divots.
