Clemente", a known artist whose signature appears on other similar pieces sold between 1905 and 1925. Clemente used mineral paints and a multi-step, multi-firing process to create the soft, ethereal look featured in this design. At least two firings were done during the painting process, the first to lock in the general tones and the second to secure the highlights and details layer. This is when the gold paint would have been added to the dish and a final firing was done to secure the gilding. This process has the fortuitous side effect of a full layer of protection over the gold highlights to minimize wear on this 100+ year old piece.

At 5"x5"x1/2" this dish can squeeze in just about anywhere and brighten your day whenever you see it. Use it as a trinket tray or put it on display to admire the detail work of the painting.

https://www.trinketrescue.com/products/bavarian-prussian-style-early-20th-c-hand-painted-porcelain-trinket-dish-signed-by-artist
